Our Mission
In the MENA region, most financial apps require you to hand over your data to remote servers. We think that's wrong. Your financial data is deeply personal — it reveals where you eat, where you shop, where you travel, and how you live.
Obba was built on one uncompromising principle: all processing happens locally on your phone. Your bank SMS is processed on-device to extract transaction data. No SMS content is uploaded to any server. No data goes to any cloud or third party. We don't even include internet permission in our app.
Why We Built Obba
Banks in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and UAE send transaction SMS for every purchase, transfer, and withdrawal. These messages contain all the data needed to track spending — but nobody was using them effectively while respecting privacy.
We built Obba to process these bank SMS locally on your phone, categorize spending, and show you where your money went — last week, last month, or even last year — without any data ever leaving your device. From the moment you open the app, you can see your past spending clearly. The result is an expense tracker built for the MENA region, in Arabic and English, with the privacy guarantees you deserve.
